Hey, my name is Meagan Klassen and I am a Downhill/AT Skier. I have been skiing for 17 years.
Pick me because: I am pretty much going to say the only thing i can think of and that is i have Passion for this sport.
About Me
My ambitions plans for next winter: Next season i plan on hitting the first stop for the Freeskiing world tour, in Chile. Along with the full Canadian tour. Which will include the new stop at Castle Mountain resort (which i am putting together right now, got the "ok" yesterday, now let hope for some snow..next season) Going to do some more courses for patrol, like a Weather course and blasting course. Along with some prep for my Level 2 Avalanche Operation. There will be a bit more play and a little less work, Going to Tour a bunch around my home mountain, Castle Mountain resort. Just to finally explore this area a little more then just Mt Haig back country and Syncline..Go out into the Hanging Valley, Middle Kootney pass, Thunder Meadows. there are so many. I have been coaching for this little Freeride club in the pass, It is more freestyle and racing mixed together, because i don't have the Big Mountain terrain to work with. I would like to make keep on pushing for it to be a good club with very reasonable rates. Have all the training that Wild West has but for a fraction of the cost.
Why I Ski: Why i ski? It is the closest thing we will ever be to free. When you finally reach the top of that mountain that you have been looking at for years, it is the greatest feeling in the world. Well getting to ski down it is the greatest feeling in the world. Skiing is a soul sport, it is just you and the mountain. What more could anyone really ask for? I use to take this sport for granted, but after i got injured. I had to come to the reality, that i might have to give this up. That wasn't a option for me, so i worked my butt off and got everything back to the right strength. That is what motivates me, just the pure love for this sport.
